BEGINNERS PAINTING CLASSES IN OILS OR ACRYLICS

Tuesdays 9:30 am – 1:00 pm  - 3.5 hours per week for 8 weeks

Commencing: Tuesday 6 February – Tuesday 27 March 2018

Cost: $400 (payable when booking)

 

Join me in my large home studio at Stokers Siding for small-group classes working in either acrylic or oil.

In this 8 week course you will be guided through the following:

Understanding colour:

- mixing

- identifiying and using hot/warm & cool colours

- use of complimentary colours

- colour and perspective

Planning paintings:

- preparing surfaces

- underpainting

- compositional techniques

Painting:

- dark to light technique

- monochromatic tonal painting                  

- complimentary colour painting

- brush techniques

Morning tea provided. BYO materials (Materials List will be provided). Some materials may be purchased from me at cost price.

PRINCIPLES OF DYNAMIC COMPOSITION - Intermediate to Advanced Level Painting

Fridays 9:30am - 1pm

Commencing Friday 2 February - Friday 13 April 2018

10 weeks / 3.5 hours a week / $500 for the term (payable when booking)

Join me in my large home studio for small-group classes working in either acrylic or oil.

In term 1 2018 you will learn the principles of dynamic composition utilised by contemporay artists and old masters. You will be guided through exercises in compositional techniques including understanding and utilising:

* colour and how it relates to perspective/dimensionality

* space - rest and intensity / negative and positive

* form

* cropping

* asymmetry

You will also plan and execute paintings employing learned principles of dynamic composition.

BYO materials. Morning tea provided.
